World’s Largest Plastics Technical Conference Will Again Take Place During NPE

DÜSSELDORF, October 27, 2010—The Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE) will co-locate the 2012 edition of its ANTEC® technical conference with the NPE2012 international plastics exposition, it was announced at K 2010 by SPE and SPI: The Plastics Industry Trade Association.

Produced by SPI, NPE2012 will take place April 1-5, 2012 at the Orange County Convention Center (OCCC) in Orlando, Florida. Both ANTEC 2012 and the NPE trade show will begin on Monday April 2. In addition to the traditional conference sessions, SPE will organize poster sessions on the NPE show floor in the South Hall of the OCCC.

ANTEC is the world’s largest plastics technical conference. The 2010 edition of this annual event provided attendees from 40 countries with access to 630 original, peer-reviewed technical presentations covering every sector of the plastics industry. SPE co-located ANTEC with NPE—a triennial event—for the first time in 2009.

“The vast range of polymer technology to be addressed at ANTEC will mirror the breadth of products and services exhibited at NPE, adding a new dimension of discovery for attendees and opening possibilities for synergy between conference room and show floor,” said Susan Oderwald, executive director of SPE. “The co-location also creates a unique opportunity for the scientists and engineers who regularly attend ANTEC to interact with sales and marketing professionals.”

“SPE’s rigorous standards for ensuring the high quality of its conferences have made it an internationally respected leader in disseminating knowledge and training professionals,” said William R. Carteaux, president and CEO of SPI. “The combination of ANTEC and NPE2012 will create a world plastics event of unparalleled scope.”

Both SPI and SPE are exhibiting at K 2010. SPI’s stand is in Hall 13, Stand B91-28. SPE’s exhibit is in Hall 11, Stand E21.

SPE-ANTEC® (Annual Technical Conference) is sponsored by the Society of Plastics Engineers, and is the leading technical forum for providing cutting-edge technological issues and information pertinent to the needs of the plastics industry. Held once a year, ANTEC features presentations of hundreds of peer-reviewed technical papers, providing plastics professionals unique inside access to proprietary research and findings. ANTEC 2011 will be held in Boston, Massachusetts, May 1-5, at the Marriott Copley Place Hotel and the Hynes Convention Center. More information on the ANTEC Conference is available at, or, or by calling Lesley Kyle.
