MOLDMAKING EXPO™ TO CO-LOCATE WITH NPE2009, YIELDING ‘ONE-STOP SHOPPING’ FOR MOLDMAKERS, MOLDERS, AND OEMS WASHINGTON, DC, U.S.A., April 24, 2008: The 2009 edition of Gardner Publications Inc.’s annual MoldMaking Expo™ (MME) show and conference will co-locate with the NPE2009 international plastics exposition, it was announced today by Gardner and The Society of the Plastics Industry, Inc. (SPI), founder and organizer of the triennial NPE show. NPE2009 will take place June 22-26, 2009 at Chicago’s McCormick Place. The agreement comes only two months after the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE) announced that it will co-locate the 2009 edition of its annual ANTEC™ conference at NPE2009. ANTEC is the world’s largest plastics technical conference. “The co-location of these three premiere events, each a leader in its class, will create an international plastics convocation unprecedented in breadth and technological richness,” said Gene Sanders, SPI’s vice president of trade shows. “We anticipate a combined total of well over 2,000 exhibitors and close to a thousand conferences sessions, seminars, and other educational offerings for industry professionals.” MME is the only event devoted exclusively to technologies and strategies in moldmaking and rapid manufacturing, noted Richard G. Kline, president of Gardner Publications. The event includes a trade show with about 130 exhibitors and a conference with two days of technical presentations, panel discussions, workshops, and keynote speakers. Typically there are more than 2,500 registered participants. The 2009 edition will mark the tenth anniversary of MME. “Our co-location with NPE2009 and ANTEC 2009 will provide the moldmakers, molders, and OEMs who attend MME with a unique opportunity for one-stop shopping that includes resins, equipment, and related technologies, as well as the essential tool-making products and services that are the hallmark of MME,” said Kline. “In turn, NPE and ANTEC participants will discover exhibits and educational programs of direct interest to any professional who designs, builds, specifies, or uses plastics molds.” Both the exhibits and conference presented at MME will be located in the new McCormick West Building, which will also be the venue for the entire ANTEC 2009 conference and many NPE2009 exhibits, including special multi-exhibitor pavilions focused on specific technologies. Both MME and ANTEC conferences will be stand-alone events requiring separate registration and payment by attendees. While there will be a separate entrance to the MME exhibits, MME badge holders will automatically have access to NPE2009. In addition to the ANTEC and MME conferences, SPI and cooperating organizations will present a separate NPE2009 educational program on business topics, including papers, keynote presentations, panel discussions, and other events. ### GARDNER PUBLICATIONS INC. is the organizer of the annual MoldMaking Expo (MME) and the publisher of a range of industrial media, including the plastics magazines Moldmaking Technology and Plastics Technology.
